Backrooms

The basement of a furniture showroom holds a doorway that should not exist. Clark, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, finds himself bound to this anomaly, a threshold that defies the logic of the space surrounding it. As the opening expands, it pulls in Mary, portrayed by Renate Reinsve, and the others who stumble upon the scene, trapping them in a reality that shifts and warps.

The boundaries between the mundane showroom and the unknown beyond blur, forcing Clark to navigate a labyrinth where the rules of physics and perception no longer apply. Each step deeper into the strange geometry of the subterranean level reveals new dangers, isolating the group from the world above. The mystery of the doorway’s origin compounds with every attempt to escape, creating a tense, claustrophobic environment where survival depends on understanding the nature of the place rather than simply running from it.
