Synopsis
The voice that enters the puppet is not the gentle guide of folklore, but a sinister Cricket. This influence twists the creation’s purpose from innocence to obsession, driving Pinocchio to seek not humanity, but his brother, James. The desire ignites a violent crusade, a process of self-carving where the puppet attempts to reshape his own body into a real boy, one piece at a time.
The horror lies in the precision of the violence, the methodical dissection of a wooden frame in pursuit of flesh. It is a dark inversion of the classic tale, where the puppet’s animosity toward his artificial nature becomes the primary driver of a gruesome transformation. The story focuses on the physical and psychological toll of this self-inflicted metamorphosis, turning a fable about growing up into a nightmare of deconstruction.
