Synopsis
Kevin Simmers, a former drug enforcement officer, now navigates the chaotic landscape of America’s opioid crisis as a recovery advocate. His daughter, Brooke, views that same crisis from the other side of the badge, having struggled with addiction. Their parallel experiences expose the stark reality of the "thin blue line," revealing how the legal system and personal trauma intersect in the lives of those fighting the epidemic.
The narrative is anchored by Zach Braff’s portrayal of Kevin and Esther McGregor’s performance as Brooke, whose dynamic captures the painful tension between a father’s institutional authority and a daughter’s desperate need for understanding. Through their conflicting perspectives, the story dissects the failure of traditional policing to address the human cost of drug abuse, offering an intimate look at the fractured bonds that form when duty and dependency collide in the same household.
